Pollock — Krasner House
Located in The Springs, NY, the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center is a National Historic Landmark and the former home and studio of artist Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner. Visitors are invited to see this beautifully preserved time capsule, to learn about the lives of the two artists, and to experience new exhibitions from historical and contemporary artists alike.
This was a home. It was a place where life was lived and art was made, full of creative exchange and daily process. The PK House is not a display of the artists’ final work, but rather a canvas for their everyday lives. The home and studio were conduits through which to express their feelings and experiment with aesthetic concepts.
This re-brand had to, on one hand, embody the simplicity of the historic home and the quiet nature of a small town. On the other hand, it must embody the intellectual space of the art world in which Pollock and Krasner operated.

During the years in which Jackson Pollock worked in the barn studio, he painted with his canvases on the floor. After his death, Lee Krasner took over and painted with her canvases on the walls. Today, the studio is marked with traces of their legendary gestures.
The dash between P-K transforms into both a physical and metaphorical division and connector between the floor and the wall, between the works of two distinct artists, and between Pollock and Krasner as individuals and as a couple.
